ABOUT

Angie Pastor is a gifted artist whose music, characterized by its delicate vulnerability and acoustic charm, resonates deeply with listeners. As a singer-songwriter, jazz vocalist, and guitarist, Angie’s fingerpicking style and intimate, lyrically narrative performances create a soundscape that is both tender and compelling.

Influenced by a rich tapestry of jazz and folk traditions, Angie's musical palette was shaped by the timeless sounds of Norah Jones, Nat King Cole, Alison Krauss, Carole King, and other iconic artists. These musical pioneers instilled in her the passion and vulnerability that now define her own resonant performances.

Angie's musical journey began at an early age, enriched by her studies in the vocal jazz program at CCNY and four formative years with the Jazz Power Initiative. There, she honed her craft under the guidance of renowned artists like Catherine Russell, Marion Cowings, and Cindy Hospedales, while also learning piano from Eli Yamin and dance from Shireen Dickson and Micky Davidson. Her college education further benefited from the mentorship of Nicole Zuraitis, Tom Dempsey, Amy London, and Suzanne Pittson, each contributing to her growth as an artist and individual.

Her performances have graced esteemed NYC venues such as Birdland, The Bitter End, Dizzy’s Club - Jazz at Lincoln Center, Room 623, The National Jazz Museum in Harlem, The DiMenna Center, The United Palace, and Virgin Hotels, among many others. Angie has also held notable residencies as a bandleader and jazz singer at various hotels and restaurants, and has been a cherished Sofar Sounds artist for three years, delighting audiences in over 40 shows.
